Job Overview

Our Nurse Manager plays an essential role in the advancement and development of our nursing team within general practice. This is a great place to work, with plenty of professional opportunities for enhanced healthcare!

This is a 40 hour per week role worked over 5 days - Monday to Friday
The Nurse Manager leads the nursing team, which includes Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Assistants, to provide safe, high quality, efficient and effective nursing service to our practice population. You will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursing team, collaboration with the centre leadership, development and implementation of new and existing models of care and the recruitment of your team. You will also undertake a clinical component that may include the training and development of staff along with your own self learning and clinical advancement.

Key attributes include:

  • leadership and management experience

  • 3+ years experience as nurse manager

  • You must be NZ registered with current practicing and CPR certificates.

  • Your practice aligns with the principles of The Treaty of Waitangi

  • Strategic planning experience

  • Strong and charismatic person

  • Clinical experience and passion for, primary care and primary care nursing

  • Proven quality improvement experience

  • Postgraduate qualification is highly desirable (but not essential)

  • Great communication skills at all levels

  • Advanced computer skills

  • Manage multi-site operation (3 or 4 sites - all within the city) – 5 nurse coordinators who assist/report to nurse manager, 20 nurses, and 6 Health Care Assistants)
