Position: Full time 30 hours + per week guaranteed, likely to work 40-50 hours per week
Wage Rate: $30 - $35 – starting rate, pay rise reviews will apply, once NZ work experience is obtained

Job Overview:
Civil Machinery Operators drive and control large equipment and vehicles, often used in construction. This equipment includes bulldozers, forklifts, backhoes, dump trucks, cargo trucks and/or hydraulic truck cranes, among other tools. Therefore, heavy equipment operators are an important member of any company. You’ll be excavating, loading and moving earth, ore and rock, breaking up pavement, road, rock and obstructions, and levelling smooth and compact surfaces in a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparing and positioning plant for operation.
Selecting, fitting and removing attachments such as buckets, winches, loading scoops, shovel blades and rock breaking hammers.
Operating controls to excavate, break, drill, level, compact, move, load and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil and other materials.
Monitoring operation of plant and adjusting controls to regulate pressure, speed and flow of operation, and ensuring safety of other workers.
Raising, lowering and manipulating attachments using manual and hydraulic controls.
Working from drawings, markers and verbal instructions.
Servicing, lubricating, cleaning and refuelling plant and performing minor adjustments and repairs.
Qualifications & Experience:
Applicants should have equivalent to NZ Class 2 or 4 HGV licence as well so they can operate larger machinery e.g. over 18 Tonnes
Operators should be able to work across multiple machines e.g. excavators, dozers etc.
Must convert overseas drivers licence and then obtain their WTR endorsements prior to commencing work in NZ.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience on multiple machines including Excavators, Loaders, Rollers & Graders. Versatility is essential.
