Scaffolders Needed - Construction Pipeline for NZ 2025

New Zealand has a number of big construction plans for 2025 and onwards, with infrastructure activity forecast to be $10.1 billion for the year. This activity brings with it a demand for scaffolders who are looking to work in New Zealand from the summer of 2025 onwards.

Below shows the pipeline report from The NZ Ministry of Business, showing the economic performance of the construction industry since the Covid recovery, and the plans for the next six years.

The plan shows the forecast for new dwellings is now 161,000 which is an average of around 26,800 a year, and up to 39% of them to be multi-unit dwelling consents. As a result we are working with employers now who want to line up scaffolders for positions in 6-12 months.

As reported by SARNZ, scaffolders are a level 3 skilled trade under New Zealand’s new occupational code. This recognition means that scaffolders have enhanced career opportunities, stronger pathways for residency opportunities and means the sector will adopt higher safety and performance standards.
