Immigration NZ Moves Group Visitor Visas to Enhanced Online System
Immigration New Zealand (INZ) has announced that Group Visitor Visa and Tour Escort Visitor Visa applications will move to its enhanced Immigration Online platform from 20 July 2026.
The change is part of INZ’s wider Our Future Services programme, which aims to modernise the immigration system through improved digital services, smarter technology, and a more streamlined application process.
The updated system is designed to make visa applications simpler, faster, and easier to manage for both applicants and immigration staff. New features will include clearer application tracking, improved self-service options, and the ability for group applicants and tour agencies to collaborate on applications online.
The following visa categories will transition to the enhanced platform:
Group Visitor Visa (General and Approved Destination Status)
Tour Escort Visitor Visa
Visitor Visa for Approved Destination Status Free and Independent Travellers (FIT)
Immigration New Zealand says the new process has been developed in consultation with visa processing staff, immigration advisers, and the international tourism sector to ensure it meets real-world needs.
From 20 July 2026, all new applications for these visa types will automatically be submitted through the upgraded online system. Existing paper-based processes will remain unchanged until further notice.
The move continues INZ’s phased rollout of enhanced Immigration Online, which already supports several visa categories including visitor, student, work, and permanent resident visas.
