Job Overview & Responsibilities 

  • Floor management of surgical patients

  • Emergency and floor consultations

  • Ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostic tests

  • Admitting history/physicals

  • Minor bedside procedures and wound care

  • Performing complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care

  • Formulating a treatment plan within scope of practice

  • Implementing therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate

  • Exercising judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising surgeon or other health care professionals

  • Ordering, collecting, and performing appropriate laboratory or diagnostic procedures, and studies

  • Ordering or performing diagnostic studies such as EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and x-ray examinations including special x-ray examinations CT, MRI, and bone scans

  • Maintaining responsibility for adhering to Medical Centre and Departmental policies to ensure that the medical centre is operated in an efficient manner

  • Documenting patient progress and surgical care

Requirements:

  • Proven 4 years’ work experience as a Physician or similar role

  • Knowledge of general care practices to help diagnose and treat injuries

  • Licensing or Certifications for General Physician

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours based on the clinic’s needs

  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations
